That’s a hibiscus. Native to all tropical environs. Grow well in California and Florida.

Letty’s I thought they were called “tulipanes” in spanish too, but I checked wikipedia, and apparently “tulipanes” is spanish for Tulips…weird right?

this is one of American Samoas unique flower. It is called the hibiscus(aute).
